I May Be Going Mad

by Drew Delaney

I may be going mad, a visit I just had;
It slithered cross the path of moss,
His neck so sleek, his eyes so meek.
I may be going mad.

It was just yesteryear, my heart froze, filled with fear.
When something vast did wriggle past;
I'd scream and run, dash for the gun,
It was just yesteryear.

I hope he finds a home, no longer has to roam;
Away from here, and not too near,
My gardens fine, can't cross the line.
I hope he finds a home.
