Taroko Gorge, Taiwan

bridges and tunnels
compete with waterfalls
in Taroko Gorge
crowned frogs climb
variegated craggy rocks
shrines dot landscape

colossal marble
boulders shape course of river

Eternal Springs dance

dancers echo colors
resonate rhythms




On our recent cruise to the Orient, we visited Taiwan for the first time and had the opportunity to travel to a thrilling, national park. Seventy million years of geologic uplift and water erosion have formed the world's deepest, marble canyon that is twelve miles long.
