A Tribute to Bob Marley

by Sandra Elizabeth Williams

He's Legend; Robert Nesta Marley, 'Bob'
They called him a 'Modern Day Prophet' to
He spoke with depth, words bearing truths that grab
His songs potent, on issues dear to him
He catapulted fans worldwide to a
Musical high by using the power
Of reggae and charismatic appeal
He brought unity, crossed racial divide
His mem'ry and music live on eternally

Bob said there's "so much trouble in the world";
as "everywhere is war" bothered him
because it was a "real situation".
Although he didn't want to "stir it up"
he urged us to "get up stand up", unite
and "chase those crazy baldheads out of town"
Then there'll be "no more trouble" just "one love".

For 24chas.

The words in quotation marks represent titles/lyrics of songs by Bob Marley.

I hope I've done justice to the huge legacy left by this amazing Jamaican music Icon.

Robert Nesta Marley, OM was a Jamaican singer and songwriter. Considered one of the pioneers of reggae, his musical career has been marked by blending elements of reggae, ska, and rocksteady, as well as forging a smooth and distinctive vocal and songwriting style.
