A dear friend and loving companion

Ginger my Pomeranian

by Marie Foster1

I found you at the pound
A Pomeranian, no blood hound
Our bond was instant
Your wagging tail insistant

I rushed to make you mine
My love instant and not blind
As I took you away
My joy was in full sway

You followed me room-to-room
The position you soon assumed
You brought me so much joy
Begging for walks was your ploy

Yet, our parting was always sure
15 years and nothing more
When you died you appeared in a dream
To bid me farewell it would seem

I knew you were going to a better place
Your wagging tail all doubts erased
One day I expect to see you again
Till then, in my heart you remain
