Piercing Words Cut Deep
Misguided was the shot from Cupid’s bow,
that targeted my heart in tangled sorrow.
A piercing cut in deep, this painful blow,
had left its grief, and thwarted my tomorrow.
The beats within my heart have quickened so,
not with joy, but fear and trepidation.
This moody atmospheric cold as snow,
devoid of loving warmth or kind affection.
The poisoned arrow left inside a scar,
reminds me I should wear protective armour,
and so my heart is clad in steel for now,
she’s deaf to words of love that would disarm her.
The lack of trust in love has left me silent,
the verbal torment heard, extremely strident.
