The veteran's that came home and were unwelcome.

Thank a Nam Vet

by JLR

the torn
came today, to
open arms of his
families and close friends.
A dinner, beer, welcomed cheer!
As the days moved along, many
angry people leered and jeered the troops,
those Nam veterans, no hero's welcome!
Soldier's of old, from the great big wars,
came home, had parades and confetti,
dancing in the streets with women
wearing pretty pleats wanting
to hug just one hero.
So folks wanting to
make right a wrong!

Say thanks to
a Nam

An easy Pix this challenge group entry for me to spew, still 49 years later, my disdain for the treatment of thousands of my fellow veterans and the families that lost loved ones in a battle America lost and walked away. Wounds that many veterans suffer still today, countless homeless Viet Nam veterans, lost in the cracks of a society that never welcomed them home...
