Bits and pieces of Christmas
Christmas is made up
From bits of things.
Garland and tinsel
And five golden rings.
There's a partridge who lives
Somewhere in a tree
And Rudolph's fan club
That shout out with glee.
There's a man name of Cratchit
Lame was one of his boys
And an elf who's a dentist
In the Land of Misfit Toys
There's Frosty the Snowman
Who lived for one day
And a jolly old man
Who flies around in a sleigh.
There's Home for the holidays
Chestnuts roasting on a fire.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas
Sung by a choir.
There are neatly wrapped presents
And a decorated shrub
That's sitting in the middle
Of my freshly scrubbed rug.
There are stockings hung
By the chimney with care
And a Christmas Story
With a double-dog dare.
There's a mob at the toy store
A crowd gathered at the mall
And a weary credit card
That can't handle it all.
There's Babes in Toyland
Mistletoe and holly
A train with a whistle
And a doll that is folly.
But mostly there's grumbles
No smiles or laughter
As we clean up the mess
That's left the day after!
