A Song of Rain

by Sugarray77

The tin roof sings a song of rain
an old, familiar drumming strain.
   A thunderous cacophony
   with blended notes of harmony,
low, roiling rumbles' braided chain.

Strong storms have swept across the plain;
a noisome force one can't contain,
  wind instruments accompany
     a song of rain.

The pattering begins to wane,
as rippled puddles fill the lane,
   melodious warm symphony
   fills the air and comforts me.
I listen to the calm refrain,
     a song of rain.
