B_A_Duga: I have wanted to write since I was 14 years old. I did not get far because I felt I lacked the knowledge to efficiently write a piece that would be good enough to be published. I struggled all my life with grammar and punctuation. I never thought I would pursue a career in something that would make it necessary to know proper grammar.
I welcome any feedback, good or bad, anything to make my writing great. Currently I am taking courses for a degree in Creative Writing which has given me the confidence to say that I can write a lot better then I realized.
I write a lot of short stories but I am also working on a large novel. I would be happy to share parts of it to get feedback on the structure, grammar and punctuations of the scenes within it. Each scene a story in its self.
I don't have a job so I have plenty of time to write. I joined this group for two reasons: (1) to get and give feedback to gain important knowledge to better my writing abilities, and (2) to enter contests and hopefully generate an income doing something I love.
I have a Bachelors degree in Information Technology but was unable to obtain a job in that field so, so far, it is a loss. I started my Masters in IT but decided I could no longer see myself happy in that job, regardless of the pay, so I switched to Creative Writing. I figured, if I'm going to fail again, I'm going to fail doing something I love.
